Eugene, Oregon – By: Mark Rinker – OTCelite.com. OTC Elite will be traveling to the Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Washington on February 16th. After having had two successful outings at the University of Washington’s Dempsey Indoor Facility already this indoor season, OTC Elite will be looking for one more solid competition prior to the USA Indoor Championships on February 23rd-24th.
With the USA Indoor Championships approaching several OTC team members are looking to start their seasons and meet qualifying standards this weekend. In the 800, Christian Smith the 2006 NCAA Indoor Mile Champion will make his debut for OTC Elite. Kevin Elliot the 13th fastest American at 800 meters in 2007 will also be making his debut in the Olympic year. Other OTC Elite participants in the 800 include Dustin Emrani, the 2007 800 meter NCAA East Region Champion, as well as 2005 800 meter All-American Courtney Jaworski.
In the longer distances, OTC Elite will be represented by Bolota Asmerom in the Mile. Asmerom will be looking for a tune-up prior to competing in the USA Indoor Championships later in the month. Representing the OTC Elite women’s team in Seattle will be Brianna Dahm in the women’s 3,000 meters.
